Restoran Hainanese Delight @ Hotel 1926 Penang

My birthday lunch @ Restaurant Hainanese Delight @ Hotel 1926 Burma Road Penang

Hainanese Spring Rolls

Stir-fry kailan

Hainanse Curry Kapitan Chicken - It tastes good, not too spicy (I guess kids can have it too!), thick curry & tender chicken meat

Hainanses Macaroni Pie RM12 (small) - fluffy and nice. This dish may take a little while as the chef only bakes per order. The large size is about triple the small one with RM25

Hainanese Coffee + Almond Biscotti RM8.00 - nice: medium bold. It's good for me even without sugar. For the almond biscotti, I find it even more nicer if dip into the coffee before biting it....

Homemade Pineapple Jam

Pineapple Jam on Cream Cracker

Recently my parents made this pineapple jam and gave me a bottle. The jam tastes good and not too sweet. Good with bread and biscuits.

Here is the recipe:

Ingredients
2 600g pineapple (blend)
400g sugar (200ml for 1 pineapple)
2 tbsp maltose

Method
1. Mix pineapple and sugar in a wok and cook with high fire. Bring to a boil then switch to low fire. Let it simmer until dry. Once a while stir it.
2. Add in maltose and stir constantly until it turn brown.
3. You can pour it to a bottle and keep in refrigerator.

Dinner @ Restoran Ho Soon Tomyam Thai Seafood @ Bukit Mertajam Penang

This is my 2nd time here. The first time we took tomyam seafood, pandan chicken and a vege dish. It tasted well. So we decided to dine-in again since we happened to be around that area yesterday. The price here is reasonable for a thai cuisine restaurant. If you come during weekend, it will be crowded and you may need to wait for your table.

Breeks Cafe @ Gurney Plaza Penang

Cafe Latte - not as good as it looks... :-) I prefer Starbucks' Latte compare to this

Club Sandwich set
I ordered Cafe Latte and they gave me hot chocolate. After drinking one sip, I requested for a change. Though the hot chocolate looks good and foamy but still so-so only. Not enough of cocoa in it!

Hazelnut Coffee Blended - too sweet and too many sugar-coated nuts flooding in the drink.
