Most of the time when I need to go visit the doctors there for follow-up appointments, I'll sure to drop by. I like their coffee. The first time I've a hot cappuccino and it tasted light, smooth & creamy. The 2nd time I choose a hot latte. This time my latte was bold but smooth and I like it :-) Besides coffee, they serves pastries as well. In their other branch at Island Plaza, they serve bigger meals but not in this branch, probably due to its small size.<br />

Here is one of the cafes that I visited with my colleagues for a team-building event. It has a large air-conditioned (though air-conditioned but we are still sweating, probably due to under-powered for such a big space) space on the upper floor where you can hold your special occasions. We tried varieties of their coffees and cakes on that day. I'm kind of a coffee lover myself but I won't intentionally go there again myself as for me, my glass of coffee that day was not to my liking. As for their cakes, they mainly serve the mille crepe type and they taste quite good...<br />

We have the chicken set lunch and we are happy with our food except the mushroom soup which needs a lot of improvement.<br />

<span class="userContent" data-ft="{"tn":"K"}">Though at first thought to many people, cooking up a curry might be a big project but it's not that hard after all to do home cooking with the convenient that you can get from the supermarket but of course you should have the "heart" in it tooo :-)..It only took me about 20 minutes to have a nice home cooked fish curry.</span><br />

<li><span class="userContent" data-ft="{"tn":"K"}">2 big red onions (chopped)</span></li>
<li><span class="userContent" data-ft="{"tn":"K"}">1 brinjal/eggplant (cube)</span></li>
<li><span class="userContent" data-ft="{"tn":"K"}">1 packet of Nyonya Fish Curry paste (can get from supermarket)</span></li>
<li><span class="userContent" data-ft="{"tn":"K"}">400g water </span></li>
</ul>

<span class="userContent" data-ft="{"tn":"K"}">For the method....</span><br />
<ol>
<li><span class="userContent" data-ft="{"tn":"K"}">Heat up some oil, the sauteed the onions a little. Then, empty the whole packet of the curry paste and continue to sauteed a little more and put in the rest of the veges. Stir-fry for a while.</span></li>
<li><span class="userContent" data-ft="{"tn":"K"}">Pour in the water (you may use the paste packet as this will make sure there is no leftover paste in the packet). Stir well and bring to boil.</span></li>
<li><span class="userContent" data-ft="{"tn":"K"}">Lastly, put in your fish and turn the fire to small fire. Close the lids of the work and simmer for 10-15 minutes.</span></li>

I like nyonya food since young, probably my grandma often cook dishes like loh bak, jiu hu char, acar, periuk ikan, etc. I really miss her cooking. Anyway, we decided to try out this restaurant at New World Park. The price was reasonable like most of the nyonya restaurant in town. This restaurant has a nice authentic ambience with batik cloths for all the tables, old-style chinese lanterns, pottery, etc. As for the food, overall i found it reasonably good, just a little on the salty side. </div>

Initially plan to go to <a href="http://www.what2seeonline.com/2008/11/penang-food-restaurant-may-foong">Restoran May Fong</a> @ Kampung Benggali for breakfast but found that they didn't open for breakfast hence just settle at this Restoran Kim Seng which is a few door away, which also served koay teow noodles. There was quite some business that morning, not sure if it was the only restaurant opened for business that morning along the Kampung benggali road. Price wise was reasonable hawker fare while the koay teow noodles was abit lack compare to Restoran May Foong. It was a bit too soft but I found it's fish ball still reasonable good. </div>

This restaurant came to my mind as previously my parents told me about it as they have visited here a couple of times. This restaurant has nice ambience with its antiques and japanese decor. The table settings come in the Tatami sytle and normal tables settings. It's a good place for chit-chat and small family gathering. Food prices are reasonable and tastes was ok but not to say very delicious, but it's suppose to be healthy as they practise the 9 NOs (No MSG, Artificial Coloring, Perservatives, White Salt, White Sugar, Meat, Egg, Garlic/Onion and No Microwave). But nevertheless one can give it a try to opt for a different in vegetarian meal :-). <br />

Good news is my left eyesight's power has decreased! but need to replace with new spectacles..After that, we just decided to have simple lunch at the corner coffee shop besides the optical shop and ended up having chicken rice at Restoran Khek Leng of Terengganu Road. I've been eating this chicken rice for quite some years but didn't blog it until now. It actually tasted quite good but the <em>chai boey</em> (salted vege chicken soup) a bit lack, a bit on the sweet side. Our lunch came to a total of RM10 with two <em>oil rice</em>. If you are around the area during lunch time, you can try it out!<br />

They serve mediterranen cuisine. I'd the mother's day set which cost at RM68.80 which comes with a starter, main course, dessert and house wine, while my hubby had ala-carte. Overall it's worth the visit. The food was simply scrumptious except the house wine :-) The hospitality was good too with friendly customer service from the waiters. This restaurant was recommended by Pei Yee but she and her hubby was unable to join as they need to fetch the photographer back to Ipoh first. The restaurant is divided into two sections: air-conded and non-airconded. Service was a bit slow probably that's how the restaurant name came about...hehe... We decided to have the Sunday lunch at this old restaurant in the town called Ming Fong. If not mistaken, this restaurant has been established more than 30 years. I think this is only my 2nd visit to this restaurant since 10 years ago. I remembered during my 1st visit, the food here was very nice and I like it. They offer chinese cuisine like chu-char (stir-fry). Most of the customers are locals and some are from other states. This restaurant is by the river mouth opening to the sea. It has quite a nice view of the mangrove river and sea. There are also some fishermen's boat park by the restaurant. Besides the food that we ate, there were mee udang, ikan bakar, tomyam, etc. I guess their specialties also include fish crackers and shells food as many tables were having that. <br />

The restaurant has a simple kopitiam-style ambience. Most of the waiters/waitresses there are part-time workers...probably there are 16+ years old. The customer service there was not favorable. This is because when my hubby was trying to pull a chair from another table for me with one hand on the phone, nobody give a helping hand. Most of the workers there just standing around, chit-chating, having fun and gigling among themselves. There was also this couple workers...(i think there are foreign workers)...the guy was forcefully pulling her and the lady worker was reluctant being pulled. They started from the kitchen entrance to the toilet then back to the kitchen entrance and finally the guy forcefully pulled her out of the restaurant towards the opposite flats......the guy looked fierce.....like harrassing her...Anyway, when we pay our bills, we mentioned this to the acting supervisor which I think in his early 20s and he just say sorry........Besides that, the waitress that served us do not really know how to recommend the food in the restaurant especially when we ask her how many pieces of spare ribs there is in a boil....she just replied..."I don't know"....Price here a bit higher compare to other bak kut teh stalls around Penang. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

Sorry I didn't manage to get the name but it's a small thai shed-like restaurant along Jalan Berjaya Kampung Baru of Bukit Mertajam. The restaurant is about 100 metres from <a href="http://bindinglove.blogspot.com/2010/06/d-kuang-seafood-restaurant-bukit.html">D Kuang Seafood Restaurant</a>. This thai restaurant is just beside the SJK(T) Bukit Mertajam and opposite the SMK Bukit Mertajam. It served good and reasonable thai food. The owner is from Thai. The crowd starts around 6.30pm on a Sunday. We arrived by 6pm and there were already 3 tables of people and one of the tables already finishing their meals but we still need to wait for about 20 minutes for our food but it's worth to wait as the food was good!
