Blooms Restaurant @ The One Penang

It was one of the lunch venues with some of my colleagues where we want to explore new place to eat and since The One is a new happening places with nice colonial-feel design shop houses in Bayan Baru area. We have the chicken set lunch and we are happy with our food except the mushroom soup which needs a lot of improvement.

Love the overall ambiance, food, services provided by the crew and their price are reasonable. They also have a lounge upstairs with grand piano, and etc. It's worth some visits :-)

Fish Curry Recipe

It has been really a while since I last enter any post to my blog..looking back at my last post date, I really feel sorry about it.."-.-"...For the past one year, stress from work and family matters really wore me down hard which even jeopardize my physical and mental healthy but things are changing for good from now onwards....finger-crossing. :-) Like the Chinese saying "否极泰来, 雨过天晴" ...there's always sunshine after a storm and tough time never last but tough people do....
A friend also encourage me to write back my blog and not to let hobby just die off......

Now back to business...hehehe..... :)
After so long, I plan to cook up a dish which I always like since young..Fish Curry...
Cooking always bring me back memories of the days where I would help my grandma at the kitchen by standing by her wok for her to dish up the cooked dishes to be pass to me to be put on the dining table...hence I'm always the first to get the great aroma of each lovely cooked dishes.....

Ohh...talking too much again....haha....coming back to the Fish Curry Recipe...
Though at first thought to many people, cooking up a curry might be a big project but it's not that hard after all to do home cooking with the convenient that you can get from the supermarket but of course you should have the "heart" in it tooo :-)..It only took me about 20 minutes to have a nice home cooked fish curry.

Here's a picture of the fish curry (since i cooked twice lately, one using fish head and the latter using fish meat)

And for the Ingredients....below is a guide for 2/3 persons sharing
  • 2 pieces of fish meats (here i used grouper fish meat)
  • 6 ladies finger
  • 2 big tomatoes (chunk)
  • 2 big red onions (chopped)
  • 1 brinjal/eggplant (cube)
  • 1 packet of Nyonya Fish Curry paste (can get from supermarket)
  • 400g water

For the method....
  1. Heat up some oil, the sauteed the onions a little. Then, empty the whole packet of the curry paste and continue to sauteed a little more and put in the rest of the veges. Stir-fry for a while.
  2. Pour in the water (you may use the paste packet as this will make sure there is no leftover paste in the packet). Stir well and bring to boil.
  3. Lastly, put in your fish and turn the fire to small fire. Close the lids of the work and simmer for 10-15 minutes.

It's easy, right? :-)

**I didn't any coconut milk and it turns out good as well**
