I like nyonya food since young, probably my grandma often cook dishes like loh bak, jiu hu char, acar, periuk ikan, etc. I really miss her cooking. Anyway, we decided to try out this restaurant at New World Park. The price was reasonable like most of the nyonya restaurant in town. This restaurant has a nice authentic ambience with batik cloths for all the tables, old-style chinese lanterns, pottery, etc. As for the food, overall i found it reasonably good, just a little on the salty side.

Batik cloth on each dining table; I order a hot nutmeg drink and it's quite nice as well, not at all diluted like others that I've tried |
Interior with chinese nyonya decor |
jiu hu char - aromatic but a bit salty. If it is slightly softer and less salty, then i think it would be perfect |
Loh Bak (pork) - it's very flavorful and meaty with the correct amount of 5 spice powder--quite satisfying :-) |
stir-fry potato leaves with garlic |
Ayam Pongteh - braised chicken with shallots and herbs - reasonably good :) |
